Some thoughts on writing a book about piracy

With the release this past week of my new book, Terror on the Seas: True Tales of Modern-Day Pirates, I did a short interview that may be of interest to some of you. It was done with acclaimed Canadian author and filmmaker David Bezmozgis for The National Post's book blog, The Afterward, and can be read here. Enjoy the weekend and, for those of you in Canada, the Victoria Day holiday.

Dear Mr. Daniel Sekulich,

I am a writer of Malay language books in Malaysia, am also an ardent fan of your blog. In fact I have a link to your blog from my blog (http://meredahsamudera.blogspot.com).

I wrote quite a number of entries on piracy and have referred to your blog on a number of occasions.

My question is, which company sells your book in Malaysia? I need to purchase a copy to review in my blog.

Thank you. Keep up the good work of providing timely and comprehensive information on modern pirates.

Imran Yusuf.

Imran,

Thank you for your very kind comments. May I add that your own blog is quite extensive, though my Malay is far too primitive to follow it.

Currently, the only way to get an English-language copy of the book in Malaysia would be through a foreign online seller like Amazon USA. (There will be an Arabic-language version released in the near future, though I am uncertain of the release date.)

I hope this information helps.

Terima kasih,
Daniel
